These draft Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of AdsInBar, a Mac menu-bar advertising product and web dashboard operated by CJ Studios. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to this draft. It is an effective working policy, not a placeholder, and may be updated as we launch.
AdsInBar shows approved ads in the Mac menu bar and shares advertiser revenue with people who display those ads. Advertisers can buy minute-long impressions through the dashboard. Features may change as the product develops.
You must be able to form a contract under applicable law and provide accurate account information. Paid participation (earnings and payouts) is currently intended for people in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and the European Economic Area, subject to Stripe availability. Advertisers must have authority to run the campaigns they submit.
Displaying ads on AdsInBar does not make you an employee, contractor, partner, or agent of CJ Studios. Earnings are not wages. You are responsible for any taxes that apply to amounts you receive.
Earnings are impression-based: you are credited when a qualifying ad is visible under the product rules (including that the Mac is awake, unlocked, and showing the ad for the required duration). Rates can vary. There is no guaranteed daily amount.
You may pause, snooze, or disable ads at any time. While ads are paused or hidden, you do not earn. You must not interfere with impression measurement, run the app in a way meant to generate fake impressions, or misrepresent device status.
You can earn before entering payout details. Stripe Connect onboarding is available; requesting and sending payouts is not live yet. Once transfers launch, earnings clear after 5 days and pay out once your available balance reaches $10.00. You keep amounts already earned, subject to these Terms and fraud checks.
Campaigns are reviewed before they run. Campaigns start at a $15 minimum spend and are priced per 1,000 minute-long impressions at the then-current rate shown in the product (the marketing site currently lists a launch rate of $6 per 1,000 minute-long impressions). You must comply with the Ad Policy. We may reject, pause, or remove campaigns that violate that policy or these Terms.
Keep your login secure. Do not abuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, or use AdsInBar for anything illegal. We may suspend accounts that we reasonably believe are abusive, fraudulent, or in violation of these Terms.
AdsInBar is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, CJ Studios is not liable for lost profits, lost earnings, interrupted service, or indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability for claims arising from the service is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim, or (b) fifty U.S. dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the maximum allowed.
Governing law and venue are to be determined (United States). Until a specific state is designated, these Terms are intended to be interpreted under applicable U.S. law, without choosing a particular state’s courts.
